Building the community that built us.
The Nelson Company brings the full scope of complex construction to North Central Florida. We build cGMP facilities, BSL-2 and BSL-3 labs, cleanrooms, and cold storage down to -20°C. We work hand in hand with a deep network of local trade partners to install and maintain the critical systems behind these facilities: large-scale HVAC, chillers, generators, rotary UPS, and gas and chemical storage and distribution. We support every system through commissioning and validation, all the way to user group occupancy. Our work ranges from ground-up buildings and PEMBs to tenant improvements, medical offices, and fast-track open-office renovations. Whether through design-build or construction management, where we excel most is logistics and phasing inside occupied facilities, keeping client downtime to a minimum.

Who we are
Founded in 2013 by Jack McDonald as a student in UF’s Rinker School of Construction Management, The Nelson Company builds environments where precision matters most. Our core expertise is biopharmaceutical construction: laboratories, cleanrooms, and sterile, highly controlled spaces. That same rigor carries into our healthcare and commercial office work. The McDonald family’s lifelong commitment to competitive sports has made elite athletic and performance facilities a natural part of our practice. Whether the project is a cGMP suite, a commercial office space, or a championship training center, our clients count on us for thorough planning, transparent management, and precise, on-time delivery.
